VCB Camógs Mark Presidential Visit with Shield Victory!

Victoria College Belfast Camogie Club was delighted to host a visit by Uachtarán Aileen Lawlor, President of the Camogie Association of Ireland. Visiting Belfast to mark the 10th anniversary of Camogie at Bredagh GAC where many of our girls play their club camogie, the President took the time to speak to many of our U14, U13 and U12 players and in particular to Zahra Lowry (pictured with Aileen Lawlor, Ms Patricia Slevin, Principal and Head Coach Ronán O’Brien) who captained our Cumann na mBunscol team that won the Antrim indoor championship and reached the final of the outdoor championship in 2014. She also congratulated the VCB girls (pictured) who were part of the U14 All-Ireland Féile winning Bredagh team of 2014. The players enjoyed having their photographs taken for The Irish News and the South Belfast News and several were interviewed for television broadcasting.

Victoria College hosted our first ever Camogie tournament to mark the Presidential visit and we won the Aileen Lawlor Shield kindly donated byThink People after defeating Aquinas 4-1 in the decider.
