Year 10 Software Development Roadshow

On Friday 13th March, Y10 pupils took part in a Software Development Roadshow, presented by Sentinus. The pupils had the opportunity to use 'MaKey MaKey' Boards. The invention kit encourages people to find creative ways to interact with their computers, by using every day objects as a replacement for keyboards and mice.

Activities completed ranged from digital design work to programming in an attempt to enthuse pupils about programming and IT as a career path.

The event was attended by Sheree Atcheson, a software engineer at Kainos who founded Women Who Code (WWC ) Belfast. WWC is a monthly group for female coders, designers, founders, developers and anyone who is interested in learning new skills and receiving career advice.
