Y8 Ulster School's Camogie Cup

The Year 8 camógs travelled to Ballyholland GAC outside Newry to play in the Year 8 Ulster Camogie Championship. Their opening fixture against St. Columban’s Kilkeel was a very tight affair with little in the way of clear scoring chances. Shannon Frazer, Katie Pallin and Jessica Moore defended admirably and fed some good passes through to the midfield where captain Zahra Lowry and Sophie Boyle of St. John’s dictated things. Player of the Match Mia Coffey impressed all observers with her penetrating running whilst Katie McCammon and Mia Birney of Bredagh threatened up front. In the end it finished scoreless. This match was followed by a local derby against Aquinas who we had beaten several weeks previously. On this occasion the Ravenhill Road girls took the honours, largely due to a magnificent solo display by Bredagh’s Anna O’Keefe.

Squad:

Zahra Lowry (Captain), Jessica Moore, Katie McCammon, Mia Birney, Sophia Mackey, Katie Pallin, Shannon Frazer, Naoise Gormley, Sophie Boyle, Sarah Bunn, Mia Coffey, Rosie Fogarty, Amy Montgomery, Ella Glover and Eva Clarke.
