BOC Gases visit VCB

BOC Gases visited school on Friday 1st May to give a STEM related talk and display to the Year 9 girls.  During the event the girls learnt more about the gases in the air, their uses and hazards, and participated in multiple experiments including a liquid nitrogen display. Pupils and staff had great fun freezing flowers, bananas and balloons in the -190oC liquid.

There was also a short talk on STEM careers at the end of the event, highlighting the need for more women in the field of Engineering. Both staff and pupils really enjoyed this visit and would like to thank the BOC staff for taking the time out of her busy schedule to visit school.
