VCB hockey girls represent Belfast and Ulster

Year 12 pupil Caitlyn Murphy has been selected in an Ulster Under-17 Hockey Panel which will travel to England to take part in a training camp in Lilleshall from the 29 April to 2 May 2016. The camp includes two games against England U-16 Girls and two games against Scotland U-16 Girls.

Ulster Hockey High Performance Manager Stephen Watt commented 'inclusion in the group is based on various factors including some players we want exposed to this level of competition; others we want to have a look at; and some we are using this vehicle to continue to invest in.'

School Coach Paddy Grimes commented 'this selection is reward for Caitlyn's excellent performances for the school team and her Club team throughout the 2015-16 season.  The improvement in Caitlyn's game in such a short period of time has been remarkable.  There is no doubt that her change in position to centreback at school level coupled with her exposure to Premier League hockey at Club level have made Caitlyn a much better allround player.'

The school would like to wish Caitlyn all the best for the trip.

The school would also like to congratulate;

Emma Conlin, Beth Walker, Caitlyn Harvey and Georgia Heatherley who have also successfully represented Belfast at U17 level.

Charlotte Little and Susie Loane who have successfully represented Belfast at U17 level.
