Carol Service 2019

On the 12th December members of the Victoria College Community once again came together to celebrate the Christmas season for our annual College Carol Service. Parents, staff and pupils gathered in the beautiful surroundings of Fisherwick Presbyterian Church and were treated to a range of performances from the College Choirs and Orchestra.

The orchestra got the night off to a festive start with a medley comprising of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ and ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. ’ Deputy Head Girl Kathryn Polson sang a beautiful solo at the start of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ before the congregation joined in. Other highlights included the Senior Preparatory Choir led by Mrs Murray who entertained with an original composition by our much beloved previous Head of Music, Audrey Gillian – Star of the East. All of the College choirs delighted the congregation with their usual high standard of performance, ensuring that everyone left feeling like the Christmas season had truly begun.

This year we were delighted to have four separate pupils taking on accompanying roles at the piano: Coleena Chan (Year 8), Emma Kane (Year 12), Beatrice Tinsley and Zoe Tam (Year 13).

The music department wish to thank all the pupils who participated in the service for their continued hard work and dedication to the musical life of the College.
