Belfast School of Performing Arts

Year 11 pupil Joe Felo Cownie performed in two major productions with Belfast School of Performing Arts over the summer. Firstly, Joe appeared in The Little Mermaid production as the character "Flotsam" in July. A review of the show praised Joe's  "great sense of comic timing" in this role*. Joe went on to perform as an Oompa Loompa and ensemble member in the Northern Irish theatrical premier of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at a number of sold out shows at the MAC Theatre in Belfast in August. A review of this show published in Love Belfast  noted that "The ensemble cast brings Wonka’s world to life in a dazzling display of colour and creativity, proving that even the most well-known stories can be given new life with imagination and dedication."
