The function of a safeguarding team is to provide support for teachers in carrying out their pastoral role. The pastoral system in Victoria College consists of a number of teams, including Form Teachers within a Year group, Heads of Year and Heads of Subject. The Form Teachers work closely with the Heads of Year who have a general overview of the academic and pastoral needs of all pupils in the Year, while the Vice Principal oversees the pastoral care across the whole school.

Pastoral team meetings are held regularly to plan and review programmes and activities. Contributions to the work of pastoral teams come from careers guidance specialists and external support agencies.

How to report a concern

All pupils have daily contact with their form teacher who is the first point of contact for pastoral support. The following diagram shows how you can report any safeguarding concerns.
