Year 8 & 9 pupils reading and quizzing

Pupils in Years 8 & 9 are now taking advantage of new technology to assist their reading and literacy skills. The College has been using Accelerated Reader software for several years and now pupils can access this via iPads through the school Wi-Fi. The software assists staff by tracking each pupil’s reading habits and ability. Pupils are encouraged to read more by taking quizzes based on the plots of books that they have finished reading and can win House Points and other prizes in regular competitions. This has proved to be extremely popular already this year and, by mid October, pupils had taken over 500 quizzes.

Pupils and parents can also use this excellent resource – it is available from home from the link at www.c2kschools.net (or directly from https://ukhosted2.renlearn.co.uk/1895460/ ). Please note that each pupil has their own password protected account – ask your daughter for her login details.
