An Evening of Fine Art
On Friday 14th November, the College held an extremely enjoyable and exciting evening of Fine Art. This was in celebration of Neil Shawcross’ art and helped raise money for our new sports hall through selling his limited edition print titled, “Eminent Victorians by Lytton Strachey.”
Anne Henderson and Becky Weir gave a brief introduction to Neil’s background and artwork, before Mark Carruthers interviewed the relaxed Mr. Shawcross over a glass of wine. We all thoroughly enjoyed hearing in person the motivation behind his work and his advice for the students. The art students spoke to Neil afterwards, taking much inspiration, and were delighted to be a part of this fantastic opportunity to meet a renowned local artist.
