Inspire Change Conference 2014 at Titanic Quarter Belfast

Today seven Year 10 pupils from the College were given the opportunity to attend a conference for International Women’s Day on the theme Inspiring Change . Speakers encouraged advocacy for women’s advancement everywhere, and in every way. They challenged women’s equality and celebrated the difference that women have made to the world in the past and encouraged young women to be the catalysts for change that we need today. Titanic Foundation Ltd in partnership with Titanic Belfast, hosted this first International Women’s Day event.

A number of pupils from the College entered art work based on the theme my heroine. Pupils were asked to create a piece of artwork based on a lady who inspired them.

A Year 10 class portrait of Margaret Byers, founder of Victoria College was selected along with two other pupils Kirsten Culbert and Teri Johnson. The work is currently on display in the Andrews Gallery at Titanic Quarter.
