Pupils attend a female participation in sport workshop at Queens

Pupils from Years 8 and 9 were invited to participate in an event at Queen’s University to promote female participation in sport as part of the historic Queen’s GAA Festival. Together with participants from Malone College and St. Louise’s College, twenty-five pupils participated in coaching sessions in soccer, rugby, gaelic football and rowing. The three schools competed against each other in a hugely enjoyable rowing competition which the VCB girls won after an exciting and noisy finale. The players heard the Minister for Culture, Arts and Leisure, Carál Ní Chuilín MLA, deliver an optimistic talk on growing female participation in sport.
