Health & Social Care pupils recognised for Intergenerational work

The intergenerational project that the Health and Social pupils were involved in last year were finalists at this year’s Alzheimer’ Society annual Awards ceremony. The project was categorised in the 'Young Person/People Contribution of the Year Award', this was one of the 12 categories for the award ceremony.

The project was in partnership with Fiona McGettigan, activities coordinator for the people with dementia for the Belfast Trust and Sally Young, community artist. The pupils volunteered in different residential homes and worked alongside artist in an arts and crafts project over a 10 week period.

To represent the VCB pupils, Sophie O Neil and Morgan Hirst who both study Double Award HSC, attended the event with Mrs Loane, which was held in the Europa Hotel. The girls were presented with a beautiful glass trophy.
