Camogie Update - County Down U14 Championship

The U14 squad participated in the County Down Championships held at St. Colman’s College, Newry. The girls played very well in all matches. The midfield triumvirate of Katherine Ward, Sorcha O’Brien and Poppy McCamphill provided the necessary physicality and leadership, providing abundant scoring opportunities for the forward lines. Marianne Doherty and Elise Du Boulay provided width and pace on the wings and Zahra Lowry, Eva Briggs and Sophie McGonigle were effective in front of goal. With Emilia Azuara-Lois and Maddie Brittain leading a solid defence, we proved difficult for opponents to break down. After impressive victories over St. Malachy’s (Castlewellan) and St. Louis (Kilkeel) and a narrow defeat to Aquinas (Belfast), we lost the shield semi-final to Newbridge (Loughbrickland).
