U12 Gaelic Football Triumph
On Friday 12 May the U12 Gaelic Football team represented the College in the Ulster Council Peil Shield tournament played in the sunshine at Cherryvale Playing Fields. Twenty schools from Counties Antrim, Armagh and Down participated.
The VCB team led by captain Robyn Murray won all four group matches convincingly before easing past St Joseph’s Crossmaglen in the semi-final. An exciting final saw the Victoria girls defeat Lismore comfortably in the end, marking an historic occasion. Rose Sundara-Garuda was solid between the posts and the defence of Ciara Irvine and Robyn Murray coped admirably with all that was thrown at them. Sophie McGonigle and Sarah Trainor bossed midfield while our forward line of Kate McSorley and Caitlyn Courtney, led ably by Aoibheann Dougan, did the damage very effectively up front.
Congratulations to all pupils on their outstanding achievements and a very special well done to their coaches Mr Thompson and Miss Moore.
