Year 8 (U12) Camogie

The camogie season commenced in earnest with the annual U12 Sport agus Spraoi development blitz at Ulster University. Victoria College entered two teams again, such is the interest among our new pupils. The Harps played matches against St Louis (Monaghan), St. Joseph's College (Coalisland, Co. Tyrone), Our Lady's Newry and Gaelcholáiste Dhoire. The Shamrocks faced St. Patrick's Academy, St. Mary's Clady, and St. Paul's Kilrea.

The Malone Road girls faced very tough opposition from mid-Ulster but we equipped ourselves well. Led by experienced club players such as Rossa's Sarah Trainor, Sophie McGonigle and Ciara Irvine of Carryduff and Robun Murray of Lámh Dearg, the beginners applied what they have learned in the first few weeks of training. Isabella O'Brien, Rianna Duffy and Anna McPherson played with growing confidence and Sophie Regan, Kate McSorley and Betsy Brittain impressed with their stick skills. We look forward to a busy season ahead.
